Due to its light weight and small size it is the perfect instrument for small hands or those not wishing to hold the weight of a larger instrument. Because of this, much younger children are able to learn the recorder. It is also the perfect starting point for those wishing to take up additional woodwind instruments later in their music education.

The recorder has long been used in all types of music - here it is being used to play the well-known pop song All of Me.
The recorder is capable of producing both lyrical and delightfully light sounds and has a wide repertoire at it’s disposal, whether that be Bach or Irish traditional songs.
